Full

As I write this post, I’m reminded of last Friday’s winter storm, during which I was happy to witness snowfall after the Charlotte area had none since 2022.

(But I digress…)

Monday, January 13 marked the first full moon of 2025: the Wolf Moon (which I photographed from my backyard that very night).

I love when there’s a full moon because it’s a time of reflection and letting go. As a novice tarot card enthusiast, I consult my tarot cards every full (and new) moon. The cards offer me guidance as well as inspiration and motivation.

I pulled some tarot cards this morning, and I thought about what I wanted to let go of. Was it excess weight (I’m currently in the midst of a weight-loss journey)? Or was it stress over financial issues? I’ll be honest. It was maybe a little bit of both. (I’ll blog more on those facets of my life later.)

In honor of the Wolf moon, here’s a reminder. It’s okay to let go of things, whether they’re physical or emotional. Sometimes, letting go frees you so you can experience something better.

No one says you have to let go of many things at once. That’s overwhelming. Instead, reflect on one thing you want to let go of, and what you hope to achieve by doing so. This teaches acceptance, which can be difficult at times, but also helps you grow as a person because you’re not bogged down by something that’s holding you back.

I leave you with a mantra.

Let go…and grow.

Let go…and grow.

Let go…and grow.

See you next time.
